Webinars

In our increasingly interconnected world, it isn’t always necessary to travel in order to attend workshops and presentations. (Although I will be the first to say that it can be nice getting away from the everyday realities of life by attending a conference or retreat!) Plus, an unfortunate truth is that traveling and conference expenses can add up.

webinars, online education, learn online
Taking a “minimalist” approach to helping moderate the 2015 Online Conference for Music Therapy.

This makes webinars an effective and affordable way for sharing information and learning from others. Beginning with my first time presenting online at the 2014 Online Conference for Music Therapy, I have been hooked on the use of technology for sharing information and connecting with others.

Webinars are something that I started offering in late 2015. Below you will find links to the webinar courses I offer. Some of these are available for Continuing Music Therapy Education credits (CMTEs).

Webinars for Music Therapists

Hospice 101: An Introduction to Hospice Music Therapy: This 3-Credit CMTE course offered through The Spiegel Academy provides music therapists with an introductory overview of hospice care in the United States and hospice music therapy. Special focus is made on the role of therapeutic presence in affecting the hospice music therapy experience for both therapist and client. Recognizing the signs of empathy fatigue as a precursor to burnout, or as a recognition of the need for supervision are also discussed. This course is best for those music therapists new to the hospice setting.
