The world we live in is complex and there’s always more to learn, whether that’s because one wants to go on a new professional path, or for more personal reasons, such as to better understand oneself and the world around them, or to promote healthy aging. That’s why I believe it’s important to have an attitude of being a lifelong learner and remain open to opportunities for ongoing learning.
I provide educational trainings and workshops on different topics related to behavioral health, music therapy, and aging. Some of these trainings are eligible for continuing education credits, along with professional development. These trainings are largely online, although some workshops may be presented in person. Learn more here about some of the on-demand webinars I offer.
Below are some of the trainings I offer:
Addiction Counseling
I am a trained provider of three of the core courses required to become a Certified Addiction Counselor in the State of Colorado. These courses are:
- Addiction Counseling Skills
- Case Conceptualization and Documentation
- Principles of Addiction
The Use of Music in Behavioral Health Settings
These trainings are geared towards individuals working in behavioral health settings, or are interested in working in such settings. In these trainings, I engage learners in examining ways that music can be used to foster rapport, engagement, and insight within the context of mental health treatment, while also making the distinction between the specialized work that music therapists do with the more general use of music that non-music therapy providers can incorporate into their work.
